Thanks to a generous contribution from The Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, Family & Children’s Services (F&CS) was gifted 8-floors in Legacy Plaza West, the largest in a three-building complex on East 31st Street, formerly Dollar Thrifty’s headquarters. Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences will occupy the remaining floors in the 14-story building.
This is an unprecedented opportunity as F&CS’s current facilities were bursting at the seams while mental health needs explode.
F&CS CEO Gail Lapidus said, “Daily headlines make it all too clear that Tulsa’s need for mental healthcare continues to grow at a dramatic pace especially with the continuing pandemic. This will allow us to bolster our capacity through program expansion and innovation. We are thrilled to share a building with our long-time collaborator, OSU Center for Health Sciences. We are eager to explore the possibilities that this proximity will present – to strengthen mental health for everyone in our community.”
F&CS raised funds through a successful capital campaign in order to renovate, equip and furnish nearly 80,000 square feet in Legacy Plaza West. Construction began in mid-December 2019 and should be completed next month.
This beautiful facility has become F&CS’s new administrative and operations headquarters and home to several children’s community-based programs. F&CS has built a magnificent conference center on the lobby floor for meetings, professional training and parenting classes. The interiors are bright and welcoming with stunning views and a mix of private and open offices, collaborative workspaces, shared state-of-the-art technology and modern dining pavilions which encourage a sense of community among colleagues. With a commitment to innovation, spaces have been designed to facilitate connectivity and forward-thinking brainstorming.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our campaign donors who have helped create a lasting legacy for generations of to come.
