On the evening of December 11, the holiday spirit was palpable at the Family & Children’s Services Child Abuse & Trauma Services Christmas party. A crowd of 244 attendees, their faces alight with excitement, were warmly greeted by dedicated staff and the Family & Children’s Services Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC).
Katie Harris is one of the several YPAC members who helped facilitate the event.
“Family and Children’s is such a special organization, and I feel honored to be able to serve at any capacity,” she said. “The CATS Holiday party was a wonderful evening, and it was so special getting to see an FCS program firsthand!”
The highlight of the event was a magnificent Christmas tree, adorned with a plethora of toys, both wrapped and unwrapped. The sight of the tree, a beacon of joy and generosity, left the children in awe. With wide eyes and open mouths, they eagerly awaited their turn to snap a memorable holiday photo, write a heartfelt letter to Santa, and experience the thrill of meeting the jolly old man himself.
The event was not just about receiving gifts but also about creating memories. Attendees dove into arts and crafts, skillfully transforming simple materials into festive tokens of holiday cheer.
This magical event was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors. A heartfelt thanks to QuikTrip, our presenting sponsor, and Chick-fil-A – Promenade Mall, the sponsor of Santa’s Helpers. We also extend our gratitude to Papa John’s Pizza, and of course, Santa Claus and his merry company. Their contributions brought smiles to many faces, making the event truly enchanting.
