October marks Pharmacy Appreciation Month, a time when Family & Children’s Services celebrates the vital contributions of its pharmacy team. This tradition began in 1925 with radio stations dedicating a week to the pharmacy profession, and in 2004, the American Pharmacists Association extended it to the entire month, dubbing it American Pharmacists Month.
Pharmacists are essential in healthcare. They don’t just administer immunizations and provide medications; they offer a wide array of services to improve patient health, including treatment for conditions like asthma, diabetes and heart disease. Their personalized counseling and care make healthcare more accessible by offering easy access to answers and relief.
As the role of pharmacists expands, they are increasingly recognized as central figures inpatient healthcare teams. Building a relationship with your local pharmacist can significantly impact your health and well-being.
