This September, in recognition of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Family & Children’s Services (FCS) is partnering with organizations across Tulsa to promote hope, mental health awareness and suicide prevention through the Stay; Let’s Talk campaign.
The semicolon has become a powerful symbol of perseverance and healing. Just as an author uses a semicolon when a sentence could end but chooses to continue, it reminds us that our stories are not over and that hope remains, even in difficult moments.
Throughout the month, community members will participate in a sidewalk chalk initiative, sharing encouraging messages and information about lifesaving resources, including COPES, Tulsa County’s 24/7 crisis hotline and mobile response team, and 988, the national Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. These services are available around the clock for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or seeking support.
No one has to face life’s challenges alone. Help is always available.
