Family & Children’s Services Welcomes Lori A. Campbell as Vice President of Community Integration and Engagement
Family & Children’s Services (FCS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Lori A. Campbell as our new Vice President of Community Integration and Engagement. In this vital role, Lori will lead a dynamic division within FCS’s marketing communications department, driving strategies to advocate for FCS programs, amplify our visibility, and cultivate impactful relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, organizations, and partners.
As a public leader, educator, and advocate, Lori will elevate FCS’s presence and deepen the community’s understanding of our services. She will identify educational needs within our community and strategically leverage FCS experts to develop initiatives that effectively address them. Additionally, Lori will champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our community relations efforts, ensuring our outreach is culturally responsive and reflective of the diverse needs and perspectives of those we serve.
An accomplished, retired United States Navy officer and veteran, Lori has multi-disciplinary expertise with over 25 years of active-duty military service in healthcare, organizational leadership, community integration, engagement, and outreach. She has extensive training, implementation experience, and a record of leading change with top initiatives in DEI.
Lori is a native of New Orleans, LA, and a proud alumnus of the Yale University School of Management Global Executive Leadership Program (YGELP). She earned a Public Leadership Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Education and holds a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) of Hampton University. Lori is also a Ph.D. candidate in Organizational Psychology.
Lori brings extensive experience as a public servant and leader in community outreach from her time in the United States Navy. She has collaborated with and is sought after by diverse casting directors for television and film, and NBCUniversal Veterans Network to increase veteran talent and inclusion. Lori has worked closely with the communities of African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders, leaving no one behind.
She served as the President of the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Police Community Advisory Board (PCAB) 4th District and the Chair of the NOPD Training Academy, Training Advisory Committee (TAC).
Lori is a great communicator, a relational leader, and a collaborator who not only believes in FCS and our mission but also possesses subject matter expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her character and integrity are essential in building new community relationships and maintaining existing ones with stakeholders. Her philosophy is to operate under an inclusive intellectual umbrella by defining the organization’s value and connecting communities with the education and resources needed to bridge gaps.
