CrisicCare Center

What to Expect at the CrisisCare Center Stabilization Unit

The CrisisCare Stabilization Unit is a 20-bed unit that provides short-term, structured care as an alternative to hospitalization for individuals at various stages of decompensation. Clients who are determined to need around- the-clock care are admitted to the stabilization unit for intense treatment and support. Each client is given a room assignment. The unit has an active daily schedule to promote healing, hope, coping skills, and recovery.

About Your Stay

A Case Manager will meet with you within the first 24 hours of your stay. Your Case Manager will collaborate with you to determine your needs and help plan for your needs once you discharge from the CrisisCare Stabilization Unit. Your Case Manager will assist you in connecting with resources. Case Managers meet with each client every other day at a minimum.

Unit Prescribers will typically see clients daily. Clients not seen will be seen first the following day.

Individual Therapy is available 7 days a week, and group therapy is offered 5 days a week.

Peer Recovery Support Services are offered daily as well as 1:1 support.

There are many activities to engage in while you are at the CrisisCare Stabilization Unit. It is important that you engage in activities and participate in groups. Participation in treatment is an important factor that is taken into consideration when planning for discharge. Each day, multiple groups are offered on a variety of subjects. When clients are actively engaged in groups, they will be given an iPad. The iPad has several calming apps as well as music and Netflix for you to enjoy.

Client Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. FCS staff are not allowed to speak with individuals outside the Center without a signed release of information.

Only a prescriber can determine if you are ready for discharge. Once discharge has been ordered, it may take a few hours for the process to be completed. Each client will collaborate with staff to ensure all requirements are met to allow for discharge, including outpatient follow-up appointments, prescriptions, housing, and transportation.

Program Policies

Phone Calls can be made between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., with the following considerations listed below

Immediate psychological first aid support is available from the mental health staff 24/7.

Meals and Snacks will be served at times designated on the schedule. The type of food served at meal times varies by day. Clients will eat outside of their bedrooms to encourage interaction and reduce isolation.

Medications are administered at the medication window. Morning and evening meds are administered according to the schedule. All medications are provided, as ordered by the prescriber. Any home medications should be brought with the client in their original prescription bottles or packaging and can not be expired.

Tobacco Use is not permitted on the premises. If you use tobacco products, we can provide you with nicotine replacement therapy (NRT).
