Family & Children’s Services (FCS), a leading non-profit behavioral healthcare organization in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is looking for Psychiatric Providers. FCS provides comprehensive outpatient mental health and substance abuse services, a full continuum of crisis services, and other services designed to strengthen families and help children thrive.

Psychiatry recruitThe Psychiatric Provider is responsible for outpatient psychiatric care of medical and psychiatric clients, liaison for hospital and structure emergency care for patients, and participation in patient care teams. Psychiatrist demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions. Primary responsibilities are treatment planning based on diagnostic need. Psychiatrist works collaboratively with a wide range of clinical professionals to ensure treatment is holistic and recovery focused. New patient appointments are 40 minutes and follow ups 20 minutes.

Additional Psychiatric Provider responsibilities include lab management, treatment team participation, documentation in EHR, documentation for Patient Assistance Program (free pharmaceutical programs). No on-call, no weekends or holiday hours. Monday through Friday some evening hours desired. Robust benefit options available. Normal office hours, with some evening and weekend clinic hours for clients. Generally will treat over 20 patients daily.

Our “Ideal Candidate” should possess the following qualifications and work experience:

  • Medical Degree with psychiatry specialty.
  • Previous experience in community-based mental health organization is desired.
  • Extensive experience diagnosing mental health problems with adult & children clients.
  • Must have appropriate credentials to practice psychiatry in Oklahoma.

FCS is certified as both an Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Today, FCS utilizes a CCBHC framework to deliver services that are evidence-based, trauma-informed, diversion-oriented, recovery-oriented, and person-and-family-centered. FCS provides a full array of mental health and substance use disorder services, and family strengthening programs to adults, children, and youth.

With a commitment to eliminate barriers to care, FCS has developed a wide range of access points including eight convenient  locations, telehealth services, home-based services, mobile crisis response teams, and co-locations within numerous organizations including four public school districts.

FCS’s CCBHC comprehensive approach uses a team-based, care-coordination model emphasizing whole-person care by integrating health and mental health along with providing a range of social services to meet client needs. A full continuum of 24/7 crisis care services are offered through crisis hotlines, mobile crisis outreach-responder models. transitional care and an urgent recovery crisis center for assessment and short stays with respite lounge chairs and longer stays with beds for law enforcement drop-offs or walk-ins.

FCS is known for its innovative approaches to meeting client and community needs. It is supported in its work by an enlightened and engaged philanthropic community with program and  fundraising support.
