An innovative partnership begun last year between Family & Children’s Services and Oklahoma Department of Human Services is helping foster children with a unique set of needs that can lead to them falling through the cracks.
TULSA, Okla. – Family & Children’s Services has partnered with a Midtown Tulsa health food retailer that’s benefiting clients in need.
The partnership with My Fit Foods, a Houston-based chain with more than 50 locations in five states, provides F&CS Early Childhood Program clients about 20 free healthy meals – packed with vegetables and other fresh ingredients – per day.

TULSA, Okla. — Family & Children’s Services thanks each of the 70 volunteers who pitched in for Day of Caring on Friday.
The day started around 8:30 a.m. with volunteers from AstraZeneca, Tulsa Community College, PennWell Corp. and LeadersLife Worksite Benefits assembling at F&CS central office, 650 S. Peoria Ave., for snacks, a send-off and assignments for the day.

That furor over Cecil the Lion’s death in July resounded in a traditional and social media firestorm. It even prompted public statements from celebrities expressing outrage over the hunt that led to the death, eventually culminating in the dentist, Dr. Walter Palmer, temporarily closing his office in August.

Bama Companies CEO Paula Marshall hosted Tulsa area manufacturers and nonprofits at our Women in Recovery program last Wednesday, one of several she has hosted to encourage more employers to hire program graduates.
