Family & Children's Services provides a variety of programs designed to help parents tackle the challenges of raising children in today's world. These include:


Baby Talk - In this six-week parent skills training class, parents of infants and toddlers learn the building blocks for strong family foundations. (See our class schedule for dates.)

Pre-School Parenting - Parents of children 2-1/2 to 5 years old learn skills for providing attention and security, encouraging development, maintaining active involvement and setting boundaries.

Positive Parenting - A guide for parents of children ages 6-11, to help children develop self-discipline, responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving skills. (See our class schedule for dates.)


Parent Coaching Series - Our new Thursday night lecture series covers a variety of topics for parenting, including communication, sibling rivalry and positive discipline.


Developing Capable People - This eight-week class offers parents of children twelve to eighteen an opportunity to improve relationships. Class topics focus on character building, interpersonal skills, resiliency, responsibility and health. (See our class schedule for dates.)

Just for Dads - Our six-week fatherhood groups are designed to teach the skills necessary to become more successful in life relationships and to help fathers be the best they can be for their families.

Parenting Your Special Needs Child - This four-week workshop is designed to help parents of children with disablities learn to provide positive discipline, work with the child's school system, and advocate for their child.

Living with ADD/ADHD: How to Successfully Parent Your Child - Developing skills of behavior management, good communication and anger management will empower parents to find solutions and strategies and provide a solid framework and structure on which to base parenting practices. The objective of this six-week program is to substantially improve the quality of family life by strengthening children and parents to meet the challenges of the future with confidence.

Blending Families: Step By Step - Parents with step-children are provided with realistic information about boundary setting, step-sibling relationships, discipline, and interacting as a family. (See our class schedule for dates.)

Two Homes, Two Parents - When creating healthy post-divorce environments, the primary focus is needs of your children. Co-parents will learn how to maintain family relationships, techniques for effective communication, and conflict resolution while making both homes secure and supportive. (See our class schedule for dates.)

Classes, seminars, and workshops are affordable and available to individuals, families, and organizations in the Northeast Oklahoma area. Fees range from $10 per person per session to $25 per couple per session. No one is turned away from a program because of inability to pay; fees are reduced and scholarships are made available to those who qualify.


Parent Connections

If you have an active case with the Child Support Enforcement Office and are concerned about your ability to stay involved in the life of your child and committed to maintaining a relationship with your child, Parent Connections may be able to help.

Parent Connections offers therapeutic, education and case management services to parents who are separated, divorced or never married. Professional staff members are available to work with you, your child's other parent, and your children in an effort to develop a visitation and parenting arrangement that best suits the needs of your children. Services include:

  • Case Management Services
  • Parenting Classes
  • Family Life Education Seminars
  • Helping Children Cope With Divorce Seminar
  • Mediation and Parent Planning
  • Counseling
