Early Childhood Services

“When my son first started going to McClure, he was not speaking at all. He was very timid. Now, he's talking and has friends. He participates in activities in the classroom and receives individual attention. All the teachers and staff support him. His speech therapist sends home information so I know what he worked on at school so we can work on it together at home too.”

What is Early Childhood Education?

Head Start and Early Head Start in Tulsa County are comprehensive early education programs that help children develop emotional, physical, social and cognitive skills in stimulating settings.

Head Start teachers and Family & Children's Services family support specialists foster each child's development and work directly with parents to make the entire family a part of the learning process.

Early childhood education programs include comprehensive curriculum, family support, health services, nutrition and health education, special needs services and family activities.

Free vision and hearing screenings, immunizations and nutritious meals are included in each program. Families who qualify to enroll in early childhood programs participate at no cost to them.
