Volunteer Opportunities
At
Family & Children's Services, volunteers are a key resource
for fulfilling our mission of strengthening and promoting
the well-being of children and families in our community.
If you want to make a difference, join our team of volunteers!
F&CS has volunteer opportunities for a variety of interests.
Opportunities are available on a one-time, seasonal or ongoing
basis. These opportunities fall into three categories: program
assistance, clerical support and special events.
Program
Assistance
Volunteers age 16 and older are needed to assist with various
F&CS programs, including life skills programs for youth,
family strengthening programs and parenting workshops. Volunteer
duties can include set-up and clean-up, child care, help
with program facilitation and youth outings. Program meeting
schedules, times and lengths vary. Criminal background checks
are required for most program volunteers.
Clerical Support
Volunteers are needed during working hours, Monday through
Friday, to create charts, answer telephones, complete paperwork
and help with office mailings. Both long- and short-term
assistance is needed.
Special Events
Volunteers are needed to assist with agency special events,
which take place year-round and include Brainiac Ball, Ice
Ball, Holiday Assistance and Care Card. Duties can include
event planning and coordination, networking with area businesses,
public relations and gift solicitation.
