By volunteering at Family & Children’s Services, you can help build a stronger community, strengthen families and promote children’s healing. We value volunteers’ support and offer a variety of opportunities on a one-time, seasonal or ongoing basis. Most volunteer opportunities occur during the week/regular business hours.
Clerical Support
Volunteers are needed during working hours, Monday through Friday.
You can help with:
- Creating charts
- Answering telephones
- Complete paperwork
- Help with office mailings.
Both long- and short-term assistance are needed.
Program Assistance
Volunteers age 16 and older are needed to assist with various agency programs, including life skills programs for youth, family strengthening programs and parenting workshops.
Volunteer duties can include:
- Assist with unpacking donated clothes and arranging on shelves
- Assist with unpacking donated food and organizing storage
- Clean and sanitize toys; organize toy bins
Program meeting schedules, times and lengths vary. Criminal background checks are required for most program volunteers.
Special Events
Volunteers are needed year-round to assist with agency special events, including Brainiac Ball, our Warehouse Sale, Holiday Assistance and Care Card. Duties can include event planning and coordination, networking with area businesses, public relations and gift solicitation.
