Ford cars, courtesy of the Model T Ford Club of Tulsa, were on display as
visual symbols of what life looked like when Family & Children's Services
was founded. When purchased new, the cars cost $380-$393.
"During this special
85th anniversary breakfast, we'll be looking at how our beginnings are rooted
in helping families become strong and achieve self-sufficiency," said Gail
Lapidus, F&CS chief executive officer. "Our agency has grown tremendously
since 1925, but, unfortunately, families today are experiencing many of the
same challenges. Though human conditions still bring pain and hardship, we're
celebrating that F&CS can continue to bring these families hope,
possibility and change."
