Event attendees, of which there were more than 700, wore all white and danced the night away to local DJs while sampling craft cocktails from prominent local mixologists. The benefit, which funds Oklahoma’s largest community health care center, took place May 1 on the rooftop of noted downtown Tulsa hotspot, the Vault, at 620 S. Cincinnati Ave.
The night surpassed the event’s goal to raise $90,000 for F&CS. F&CS Development Director Susan McCalman thanked and praised attendees, as well as its volunteer committee and sponsors. She also noted the event’s high number of attendees under 40.
“That really shatters the stereotype,” McCalman said. “There were a lot of young people there to have fun and raise money for a great cause. It’s just such a bonus to have all those young people involved in our agency – either as guests, as volunteers, or as donors.”
Sponsors include Hamel Reinmiller, et al; Foster Auto Super Center; Cigna; Cimarex Energy Co.; Pray Walker; Smolen, Smolen & Roytman PLLC; Boardwalk Distribution; Crestwood Midstream Partners LP; Murray Land Services; the Neal family; SemGroup Corp.; GC Consulting LLC; State Farm – Bryan Smith Agency; Glazer; Connor Winters; GableGotwals; Hall Estill; ONE Gas, and Parkhill’s Liquors & Wine South.
Also supporting the event were Barnes Law, Bob Hurley Ford, Cherokee Nation Businesses, Chinowth & Cohen, McNellie’s Group, Nabhlolz Construction, Robert and Amy Thomas, Adams Hall Wealth Advisors, ADP, BOK Financial Corp., DeltaCore Energy Inc., F&CS Board, Firstar Bank, Magellan Midstream Partners L.P., Meadows Oil & Gas Corp., Tactical Electronics, Thorpe Plant Services, UnitedHealthCare, Vicki Vaniman, The University of Tulsa and Walsh Barnes Interactive.
The White Party continues to be a growing successful fundraiser for F&CS’ services to Tulsans in need. The event raised $60,000 for F&CS in 2014 and $8,000 in 2013, notes Robert Sher, the event’s chair.
“It really has been incredible to watch this event grow exponentially over the past three years,” Sher said. “Having such a worthwhile beneficiary in Family & Children’s Services has made the experience that much more fulfilling. There is no doubt that with continual strong leadership, The White Party will become one of Tulsa’s premier philanthropic events.”
