Thursday was an evening of celebrating as the Tulsa Area United Way unveiled the largest funding campaign result in its 90-year history. The Tulsa World reports that the agency raised $26,602,884, exceeding its goal of $26,200,00, the biggest goal in its history.
Family & Children’s Services CEO Gail Lapidus was on hand as the record-breaking campaign result was announced at the annual “Unite!” event, held at the Schusterman Learning Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa.
“Family & Children’s Services helps 1 in 6 Tulsans each year. We heal traumatized and hurting children, strengthen individuals and families, and provide hope and recovery for those battling mentall illness and addiction. Our strong relationship with Tulsa Area United Way truly makes this possible, ” said Lapidus. This year, Family & Children’s Services raised a record-setting $114,423. The Tulsa World reports “Nonprofit organizations, including the Tulsa Area United Way’s 61 partner agencies, raised a record $915,053, and the Tulsa Area United Way posted a record $160,000 for its own employee campaign, helping the local United Way to lead its peers nationally in giving by nonprofit organizations.”
