Family & Children’s Services is signing up stores and restaurants now to participate in its 14th annual Care Card promotion. Last year, nearly 200 businesses were part of the popular local shopping tradition.
Individuals will begin buying Care Cards starting October 15. Then from November 1-11, cardholders receive up to 20% off their purchases at participating businesses (10% off at restaurants and food stores, and on the purchase of art, antiques and furniture). Proceeds from sales of the $50 Care Cards support the work of Family & Children’s Services.
Businesses that participate in the Care Card shopping days are listed in the official merchant directory given to more than 2,000 shoppers and are included in advertisements and other promotional materials. There is no up-front cost to merchants.
Stores from across the community – including Brookside, Utica Square, Downtown Tulsa, South Tulsa, Owasso, Broken Arrow and Jenks – have participated in years past. Just a few of the stores already signed on for 2012 include Margo’s Gift Shop, Best Electric & Hardware, J. Cole Shoes and Leslie Elliott Interiors.
Presenting sponsor of Care Card is Bank of Oklahoma. Other sponsors to date include Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, Tulsa World, Tulsa People, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Bruce G. Weber Precious Jewels, On a Whim, The Silver Needle, Ethan Allen Home Interiors, Canterbury Lane and Petty’s. Other sponsorship opportunities are available.
To be included in printed materials, businesses must sign up for Care Card by July 13. Merchants can download the 2012 Care Card Agreement here. For more information, contact Rochelle Dowdell, F&CS special events coordinator, at 918.560.1115 or email@example.com.
